The Process
All Notary & Loan Signing Services begin with verification of identity. " A notary public is an officer commissioned by the Michigan Secretary of State to serve as an unbiased and impartial witness. The most common function of the notary is to prevent fraud by attesting to the identity of a person signing a document. " Therefore, it is the job of the Notary to prevent fraud by verifying the identity of the signer. A valid current (unexpired) form of identification is required for all notarization services and loan signings. Forms of ID accepted:
- State-issued driver's license.
- State-issued identification card
- U.S. military identification card
- Resident alien identification card (green card)
- U.S. passport
